È citata nel mwcwmwdaLebor Gabála Érenn come figlia di mwdqDelbáeth (altrove identificato come mwdgTuireann) e madre di mwdwBrian, mweaIuchar, e mweqIucharba, concepiti con il suo stesso padrecite-ref-2[2]. In un altro passaggio dello stesso testo, Dinand è identificata come una delle figlie della dea mwfgFlidaiscite-ref-monaghan-3-0[3]cite-ref-joneslge-4-0[4].

Sebbene mwiaDanann in mwiqantico irlandese sia anche la forma mwiggenitiva di mwiwDanu, secondo i commentatori questa figura non va confusa con la dea primordiale ricostruita con il nome di mwjaDanucite-ref-5[5].
